TERMS & CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP.
Access is on a pre-paid membership basis only. Members purchase the right to attend, and may do so as often, and for as long, as they wish. Failure to attend does not attract a rebate. Membership periods are quarterly, or occasionally to month end, unless otherwise agreed.
Membership is individual, no visitors, friends or family may be taken in, including for a trial session or just to watch. This also means no children are to be taken in, it is simply not a safe place for them.
Minimum age for membership is 16 years old. A concession is available for those under 20 and over 65 years of age.
COVID 19: Now the leading cause of death in New Zealand. The current vaccine limits severity but has little effect on transmission, and at present the Committee do not believe it is a reasonable requirement for membership. However, in the event of a new variant of concern, or a new vaccine effective against multiple strains, this will be re-evaluated. By joining, all users (and especially the unvaccinated) accept that the requirement may be re-introduced at short notice, and without any right of refund.
Those who have previously expressed, or repeat, dismissive or disparaging remarks about Waimate Health Developments’ Covid Policy should not re-apply.
WHD (the operator) reserves the right to decline or terminate membership without explanation, for reasons of safety, common sense, behaviour, security, allowing others access, non-payment or any other significant concern. A mandatory, minimum penalty of one month’s membership will be applied for a first offence; for any further breach membership will be terminated.
Key-tags are issued individually and are monitored. Do not lend yours to others.
All members must sign-in for each session, using full name. It must be readable.
An induction (booked with first membership payment) is a pre-requisite to gym use, for reasons of access, security and H+S, even if familiar with gym work.
Use the gym responsibly, respect others, do not drop weights.
Equipment must be used correctly, for safety, best results, to avoid damage etc. Maintain good form, control all exercises fully or use less weight or speed. Allow treadmills time to slow and stop correctly, and turn off at the wall after use.
Gym kit, especially shoes, must be clean and dry. Members regularly leaving dirt and debris behind them will not be able to renew. A dustpan is available by the treadmills- use it if necessary.
Cameras are in use for safety and security; confidentiality will be respected.
From time to time it may be necessary to contact all members, and in some circumstances this may require use of group emails where addresses cannot be hidden.
No sticky drinks, including energy drinks and protein shakes (neither need be taken during training for best effect), and no food to be consumed in the gym.
No member may enter under the influence of alcohol, drugs or sedating medication.
You should be familiar with the Health & Safety Policy.
